Trauma exists within a network of relationship. Our relationship to our bodies, each other as well as land or place. Hence the answer to the pain and suffering of trauma is not just individual healing it is also collective and in the of healing our relationships.
Unhealed trauma affects us all through the chain of relationships geographically and generationally. We can all play a part in the healing of trauma and in creating resilient peaceful communities.
On this page you will find a growing body of resources added as well as events, workshops, and trainings. Trauma Informed classes and consultations are available through Heart Place.

"I am delighted to be talking to the Trauma Informed Community about yoga for first responders and the military. I have been teaching yoga to this cohort since 2014. I will be discussing some of the issues they face, moral trauma, resilience and how yoga can assist with Trauma management.
Our First Meet for 2024 was held Feb. 6th, was really interesting and great start for the year! Stay tune for a summary pdf of what we covered and resources on Moral Injury.
Moral Injury is not new however there is increasing interest and research of late with understanding of its impact on individuals & groups. Also recognition that Moral Injury impacts many persons and areas beyond veterans to journalists, first responders and extends to any situation where a person experiences “a deep soul wound that pierces a person’s identity, sense of morality, and relationship to society” (Silver-2011)
Syracuse Univerisity defines Moral injury as the “damage done to one’s conscience or moral compass when that person perpetrates, witnesses, or fails to prevent acts that transgress one’s own moral beliefs, values, or ethical codes of conduct.” Moral Injury can present as depression, shame, regret, grief, alienation, insomnia, anxiety…We will explore its relationship with trauma.
